What Happened to Honesty and Integrity?

I know that we are 'convicted' for different things. I know that God speaks to each of us differently and about different things. I also know, however, that sins are sins...no matter how big or small they are or how much we try to justify them. I also know that we ALL sin. Hopefully, we try not to, though.

That being said, I have been slapped in the face recently with 'white lies' that my friends have said/done in order to get something for their children. Now, let it be known that I do not think there is such a thing as a white lie. Someone lies and they know they lie...lies are not big or small, they just are. So, these friends have done things like put a fake date on their child's profile so they could have a Facebook page (because it doesn't really matter), let their 12 year old child drive their car (you know, because I was right there with them).

Now, I know these aren't huge matters. I know that the world will not end because a 12 year old has a Facebook page. Here is what I do know. I know that my children watch EVERYTHING I do. I know that they know if I am being an honest person. I know that they know what a lie is and that I expect them to always tell the truth.

What happened to being role models for our children and leading by example? What happened to teaching our children that certain rules are in place for their protection? What happened to telling our children that some things we just have to wait for? What happened to being a parent to our children and not worrying about being their best friend?

Whats the difference between a fake birth date on a profile or on an ID? Just a little white lie, right? What's the difference between bending the rules for driving or drinking. Just a small thing, right?

I just don't understand how parents can justify one thing but not the other.

So, tell me...am I over reacting? Is this a big deal? Do these things matter? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Team Tabb Turns One!

Landon, Logan, Leila

Can you believe it? Those precious babies are a year old today!

It seems like just yesterday that we were keeping Jennifer occupied while she was on bedrest and making work schedules for people to come in and help with the newborns. But alas, the babies have reached the one year milestone!

This Saturday, the family will have a time of celebration...for the QUADS!

Bless you, Team Tabb.

Lest We Forget...

I just had the privilege of watching and photographing a soldier come home to his family. What a precious time as his wife and 4 kids ran and hugged and kissed on him.

I stood and looked thru my teary eye as everyone loved on him and complete strangers came up and shook his hand and thanked him for his service to our country.

Please take a few moments and pray for the soldiers. While we go about our grocery shopping and hauling of kids to and fro, families are being torn apart. Men and women are getting on airplanes all across this country to fight a war to keep us safe.

Pray. Now.

Lest We Forget...there is still a war going on...

I was Green before Green was Cool!

As you know, Christine called me out on her blog. The funny thing was, I sent her a text when I read the post and gave her a hard time for doing so.

We chatted and laughed (totally LOVE her!).

The more we chatted, the more I remembered...

She was telling me about how the disgusting composting potty thing worked...'blah, blah, blah...seat with a bucket underneath...blah, blah, blah...carry it out to the composting pile when it's full and dump it...blah, blah, blah...' (she sounds like that, you know)

My response...'Holy crap, Christine! I was green before green was cool! When we were young, we would take road trips. My parents (*ahem* Dad) hated to stop for us to pee! They were in the restaurant business and ALWAYS bought pickles in 5 gallon buckets for the restaurant (you know, like the orange ones you can now purchase at Home Depot). When they were empty, they would bring them home for our next road trip. Instead of stopping, we would have to pee in those. Then, when we did stop, we would dump the contents on some plant in the middle of no where.'

Composting at it's finest!

I was Green before Green was cool!

(Btw, I also mentioned to Christine in that same conversation that I would NOT be stopping by to enjoy a fresh, home-grown salad!)

I recently got to spend a bit of time with Team Tabb! So fun!

They have now reached 9 months old.

They are eating solid food (while I was there, they went through 3 bowls of cereal/fruit).

They are HUGE!

I am so proud of this family I could bust!

Our Day with Christine

I told you last week that the kids and I were off to help Christine and family.

Well, my intentions were good!

The kids and I did trek down, wore our paint clothes, rolled our sleeves up...but Christine had other ideas!

You see, at this point, she had been working her tail off for the last 2 weeks. She wanted to sit and visit. So, we had a great time catching up in real life (as opposed to blog life). We talked about our families (we both have biological/adopted, multi-racial children), our husbands and their jobs, the move that her family recently made, and much more. It was a great chat.

The kids enjoyed running thru the RV park with her children, riding bikes up and down the big hill, playing with make-up and nail polish and playing DS...although, I think they liked the Krispy Kremes I brought the best! All the kids had a great time.

I even had the privilege of meeting her in-laws (who were so kind as to bring lunch for everyone!)!

Now, don't get me wrong, I so enjoyed chatting with Christine all day (after all, don't think we had seen each other in about 15 years), but I truly enjoyed the quietness of the park. I just kept sitting there commenting on how quiet it was. I could actually hear nature sounds and not cars honking and sirens blaring! I kept looking at the nature...the field across the street, the HUGE grasshoppers on the tree and the beautiful birds that were flitting about! What a peaceful existence!

I came home and asked my husband if we could purchase an RV...just so we could go chill out at Hill Shade!

For more about our day, hop on over and read Christine's take...

Team Tabb Update

Logan, Landon, Leila

Just stole this precious photo and update off of Facebook.

The babies have reached the 4 month old milestone!

Mama took Team Tabb to the pediatrician today...

Landon is 12 lb, 3 oz
Logan is 10 lbs even
Leila is 8 lb 10 oz

Amazing for little monkeys that were about a pound at birth.

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow!

We Got Flocked!

Tuesday morning my husband woke up to take the dog out front and found a few visitors...

Apparently one of the private schools in town has a unique way of raising monies for their teachers to attend a conference every year!

My good friend decided we needed a good laugh and paid to have our yard flocked! So funny!

Not to worry...I have paid it forward...to her! I may not have a job when it is all said and done, but it will be worth the laugh!!!

Walk Down Memory Lane

We had a great time. Friday night, we had dinner out with just college friends. A few of our closest group came to spend the evening with us.

Saturday, we had the friends and their families to our house for dinner.

There were a few foods that she said she missed from living up north...brisket, tex-mex, Longhorn (a local restaurant) hamburgers and breakfast tacos. Well, we got 3 of the 4 in for her!

Here are some pictures of Saturday evening...

Sorry it has been so long...

Head to Kaylee's blog to see what freebies I got.

Come To My E-Party!

UPDATE: My E-party ends Wednesday, May 6th in the evening. I would love to max out the Adoption Love Meter on my E-Party page. Please, consider purchasing some great clothes for your little one and support adoption!

Remember not so long ago when I introduced you to a great company?

Well, I love them so much that I decided I would help them on a new venture...an E-Party!

What is an E-Party, you ask? Well, it is much like any party that an at-home business throws...you know the ones...send out invitations, make some food, clean your house, have the business person come over and talk about her product and get product credit based on what your guests purchase...EXCEPT, I didn't have to cook or clean and people didn't have to take time out of their busy schedules to come over and spend a few hours! How great is that? All I had to do was provide the company some email addresses, write a few blog posts, let my friends get on their computers and purchase some great products and...VIOLA! It's a party!

So, if you enjoy their products and would like to be a part of my E-Party (or better yet, host your own!) just come! You can crash my party!

Let's Party!

CRAP! I Hate It When That Happens!

I hate it when my words come out wrong. HATE IT!

It happened today. I was trying to be supportive. I was trying to say that the preschool bully deserved whatever he might get. I was trying to tell my friend that I was on her side.

That's not how it came out. It came out that I was lecturing HER. Crap!

I am so sorry, Becky. I am on your side. I am on your son's side. I think he was done wrong today and that the little bully should get a taste of his own medicine.

I am sorry, Becky.

Quad Squad Update

I heard from the Quad Squad mom today. I will let the email speak for itself...

This evening both of our Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, Dr. Kenneth Higby and Dr. Michael Gordon, did a cervical check. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...GOD IS AMAZINGLY GOOD!!!! My cervix looks even better than it did two weeks ago!!!! At 26 weeks it was measuring 23-25; this evening--25-28! The stitch from the cerclage that Dr. Gordon put in, and gave God complete credit for, still remains unchanged! Each of the doctor's were soooo pleased and quite frankly amazed!

Now, for even MORE good news! They both agree that I should go home!!!! I didn't even consider that as an option--WOW! So, tomorrow (Wed., 3-25) given that my OB/GYN, Dr. Bryan Cox, concurs, I should be discharged to go home! Then, either Thursday or Friday we will have an appt. to have a biophysical scan where they will conduct a sonogram that focuses on the health, etc of babies A, B, and C. We have agreed that until 30 weeks, we would not make "decisions" regarding delivering for the sake of baby D to only risk the health of A, B, and C.

On a final note, many of you have asked about all of the babies names. Here they are with a brief explanation:

Baby Boy A: Logan Quinn (Kevin's first choice for a boy was Logan; Kevin's middle name is Quinn)

Baby Girl B: Leila Ruth (I had picked out Lila, but Kevin, Oprah, and the Facebook poll chose Leila; Ruth was my Nana's name)

Baby Boy C: Landon John (This was the name I was trying to sway Kevin toward instead of Logan, and Land is my mother's maiden name; John is my dad's name, it has been in his family for generations)

Baby Girl D: Ella Faith (Each of Kevin's grandmothers' names had "ella"--Luella and Cozella; Faith we chose because we have complete faith in God's plan for this baby, our tiniest--this name holds the most sentimental value to us, so we have chosen to demonstrate our faith that all will be well with her by giving our little fighter this name. She will ultimately be okay; we claim it, we believe it, and we are living as if He has already answered that prayer as we have requested!)

God bless all of you that have sent your thoughts and prayers on behalf of the fourfold and our family! He does not cease to amaze us all; and He has showered us with blessings beyond measure! This testimony will speak to others about how Great and Big our God IS!

Please continue to pray for this precious family!

A miracle is in our midst!
