Shanks Bakery

My great-grandfather had a bakery in El Paso 'back in the day'.

I recently found this photo of it (thanks to a cousin on Facebook).

Just thought I would share it. I think it is super cool!

mmm, mmm, good

Was lovin' me some chinese food the other day. Late night and we went out to eat. Ordered the big ol' family dinner so we would have some left-overs.

mmmmmm...

Got home the other day after visiting the Tabbs...thought I would throw those yummy left-overs in the microwave and enjoy them.

I threw them on a plate...

nuked 'em...

added some soy sauce (which is really why I eat chinese food)...

took everything to the table...

cut into the first bite...

and there IT was!

I wasn't sure, so I called David over (who was so lovingly washing the china by hand...we had a dinner party the night before) and asked, 'What is that?'

He said, 'Uh, it looks like...no, it is...

a baby COCKROACH!!!!!!!!!'

Still makes me throw up a bit in my mouth!
