House Update #5

Would you like to see a thing of beauty??

No, really, are you ready?

OK, Here is it...

This is the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time!

I know, you are saying 'that it is just a laundry room with some ugly cabinets' but remember... beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and to me, those are beautiful!

Here's why...

The week we moved in, I noticed these cabinets on the floor of the laundry room. They took up a lot of floor space and I wanted them to hang above the washer and dryer in order to provide more useable space.

I thought this would be an easy fix!

The problem, the wall above the washer and dryer used to be the outside of the house. It is brick. Not fun!

So, I called my dad and asked him to hang the cabinets.

He tried.

Twice.

They still weren't hung.

My husband was so frustrated that he wanted to hire it done.

I didn't think it was that hard.

So, I called another friend.

He said he would hang them...and wouldn't leave until they were hanging! Fabulous!

So, he and his wonderful family came over Friday night and viola!

A thing of beauty!

Then, I hung the bar today and it is a wonderfully useful laundry room!

Makes my heart sing!

So, I recently read a post that reported it was rude to lurk. I am coming clean. I can't remember how I was directed to your blog initally, but have stuck around because you are in Texas and because you are a homeschooler.

I am now going to pretend that we are old friends and tell you how much I love.love.love your new track lighting. And also the red door. You have beautiful tastes. Write more about homeschooling, especially starting out. :)

Hi Georgia,

Glad you are here. Thanks for commenting. BTW, I don't think it is rude to lurk. I am glad that people are reading.

I'm glad you like what I am doing to the house. It is fun to see it progress.

I will post about homeschooling as it gets closer to the 'new year'. We actually have been working on Math and Reading all summer...no rest for the weary! Gotta keep that mind active during the idle time.

Come and visit often.
