The Joys and Perils of Homeschooling

This was a crazy homeschooling week.

Monday and Tuesday started out very normal. Then came Wednesday...my mother-in-law, who is the Wednesday teacher, had a doctors appointment and there was a water day at a local park that my father-in-law wanted to take Jake to, so the plans as I had them, went out the window! Thursday, Jake and I had dentist appointments and my best friend had surgey...so, when I wasn't having our teeth cleaned, I was tending to my friend...school in the car and on the run! Today we are busy playing catch-up!

I love that our schedule is flexible enough to do the things that come up in life. It can also be crazy trying to get school done!

Oh my goodness I know exactly what you mean! This week, I had two wisdom teeth cut out and my 13yo has been schooling my almost 9yo. They've been laying on the bed beside me while I try and guide them through things. Many times, we're running errands and doing math as we go. It's crazy....but absolutely wonderful!

I so know just what you mean Cammie! This year our schedule is so full with afternoon activities - ya know so I can provide a "social life" HE! for my homeschooled boys! We've been doing a lot of Durango schooling!! The other day the boys were completing their grammar & vocab in the hair salon while Mom took a few minutes for myself to actually look like a stylin' mama again! HE!! It's starting to get more challenging now in someways as my 13 yr old is taking 4 highschool credit classes so schooling on the run is a little harder. But, we still manage to get it done on the days we need to run & make it up on the days we don't. I love flexibility!!
